Injuries & Special Populations,
An injury had me searching for something to strengthen my core & support my lower back. I found Pilates; a practice I love and will continue for life. Becoming an instructor has meant I now get the share all the benefits & for me sharing is caring.
With a passion for all things involving active movement and a keen interest in rehabilitation after my own journey. I love sharing the benefits and knowledge that Pilates practice can bring to the mind and body.
Reformer & Mat L1
The Method NZ Barre
New to Pilates? Get the basics right with our beginner classes. Learn the basic principles of Pilates, how the reformers work and the base exercise movements alongside other new starters. We recommend at least four beginner sessions to get you going.
Using all the studio equipment; reformers, cardio tramps, chair, ladder barrel, arc barrel, bosu, mats, balls, weights and more. Move around the studio under our guidance, the energy will be contagious, the music pumping, the form on point and a great all over body workout is guaranteed.
Catering to our more mature clients who like move at a slower pace and may need to modify exercises and equipment.
The aim is to increase mobility, stability and overall strength. With a focus on functional movements, balance and strength, the goal is to improve day-to-day movements that might have become difficult otherwise.
Using the resistance of the Reformer, each class engages the entire body focusing on muscle tone, endurance, balance and functional strength. Suitable for all levels, note new starters need to complete a beginner course first
A faster paced & more challenging class for clients who are confident and competent on the reformer. Athletic Reformer is designed to challenge core strength and stability with faster transitions, higher reps and a greater range of movements. Not suitable for injuries or beginners.
Sculpt lean and toned muscles with this energising and dynamic group class designed to challenge and change your body - no dance experience or tutus required! Barre efficiently blends Pilates, dance, cardio and strength-training specifically challenging arms, legs and core to strengthen and lengthen the body.
Higher energy class using our cardio tramps on the reformers. A fun mix of cardio and core work, incorporating jumping and traditional reformer exercises to get the heart rate going and the core working. A great compliment to our other classes.
Restore is a class specifically designed to improve balance and flexibility. Wanting to free up those tight muscles and release your spine ?This is the class you need. Perfect for pre/post sporting events, rehabilitation or to compliment your other sessions, we will leave you feeling restored.
Suitable for all levels.

Q. How do I get started?
All new starters need to do a block of beginner classes before joining our regular classes, we recommend those new to Reformer Pilates do at least four beginner classes before joining our regular classes. If you have a few injuries or some concerns about joining classes please email us to discuss the best approach.
Q. I am new to the studio but not reformer classes, can I join a class?
If you are already confident with Reformer Pilates and want to try one of our classes you are more than welcome to our regular classes, please email us beforehand to let us know.
Q. Is Pilates suitable for me?
Pilates is low impact and focused on building mobility and strength to all levels. We advise that you speak to your lead health care practitioner before starting Pilates and discuss any injuries or conditions that affect movement with us before joining classes.
Q. I am pregnant can I join classes?
Unfortunately we do not offer classes suitable for pregnancy, your body is undergoing so many changes as you grow that new life so you need to take extra care. We recommend you find a class designed for especially pregnancy.
Q. Are 1-to-1 sessions or classes better for me?
The choice of 1-to-1 session or classes really comes down to the individual and we are happy to discuss this with you. 1-to-1 sessions are best if you have specific needs around rehabilitation, training goals or are just after a bit more focused attention. Classes group sizes are kept smaller to help cater to different needs but are not always suitable for everyone.
Q. How often should I do Pilates?
Like anything the more time you put in the more results you will see but we recognize that everyone is different so we recommend attending at least once a week to start to notice the change.
In the famous words of Joseph Pilates “You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.”
Q. Can I book the same regular class or just when suits?
Our online booking systems offers you the flexibility to book classes to suit your schedule. Classes can be booked up to one hour before they start but our classes do book out so advance booking is recommended. Please note we operate a strict 24 hour cancellation policy on all changes and bookings no exceptions.
Q. Passes or casual which is better?
Passes offer better value for regular attendees but are only valid for the specified time period which applies from the first class booking date, No rollovers or refunds on any class passes.
Q. What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes that you can move and work out in, note you will have your legs in the air so if you are going for shorts then a pair of bike pants underneath can be good option. Socks are compulsory in our studio with grip socks preferred but not essential. We stock a range of Move Active grip socks for purchase $20 a pair.
Q. How long are sessions?
All our Reformer, Jump, Circuit, Active Aging, Studio and 1-to-1 sessions are 50 minutes. Barre classes are 45 minutes. We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your session as we start promptly.
Q. How do cancellations work?
You can change or cancel booked classes through Punchpass up to 24 hours before the session starts. Failure to change your class before this cut-off will result in a forfeited payment for the session
Q. Where can I park?
There is parking along the street, we also have a visitor park at the front of the building and there is one carpark #3 at the back of the building, by our rear entry that can be used. Please only park in #3 as you may be asked to move otherwise. Note there is also parking at the Massey Street carpark. During the day street parks fill fast so allow enough time to find a park before your class starts,
Q. Do I come through the front or rear of the building?
We have two entrances to the studio, enter via the front Mon-Fri 8am-5pm or after hours via the rear of the building, down the driveway on the right hand side.
