The Pilates Room is a well equipped studio located in Pukekohe. The relaxed and welcoming environment provides the perfect space for your Pilates practice.
By integrating body, breath, movement and awareness, we strive to promote an understanding of all these aspects in your personal health and well-being.
Whether you are looking to build strength, rehabilitate from an injury, increase your movement or find some time for yourself we want to give you the opportunity to connect better with your body through Pilates. Wherever you may be on your journey we would love to see you.
Classes and Private Sessions

Utilising the resistance from the Reformer, each class engages the entire body focusing on muscle tone, endurance, balance and functional strength. All levels welcome as machines and exercises can be tempered to meet individual needs
A class catering to our more mature clients who like move at a slower pace and may need to modify exercises and equipment.
The aim is to increase mobility, stability and overall strength. With a focus on functional movements, balance and strength the goal is to improve day-to-day movement that might have become difficult otherwise.
This private session enables new starters to learn the basic principles of Pilates (breathing & body alignment), how the reformers work and the base exercise movements at their pace. Together we can work through various options for injuries or more specific needs and discuss if group classes are suitable. Email to book an appointment.
For clients are confident and competent on the reformer and want a greater challenge. The Reformer + classes provide increase spring challenges, faster transitions, higher reps and a greater range of movements.
MUM & BUB
Designed for new mums who are looking for a gentle return to exercise where they can bring their babies with along. We use a combination reformer and mat exercises to help lengthen strengthen and release with your baby by your side. This class is a great introduction to Pilates so please get in touch to find out whether it is suitable for you.
Before starting classes join one of our scheduled group introduction sessions to learn the basic principles of Pilates (breathing & body alignment), how the reformers work and the base exercise movements alongside other new starters. This session will ensure you are set up right and get the most from your first class. Email to find enquire about options and times.
By adding the cardio trampoline to the end of the reformer this class is a fun mix of jumping intervals and more traditional reformer exercises that gets the heart rate going. A great challenge for those who have mastered the reformer basics.
Sculpt lean and toned muscles with this energising and dynamic group class designed to challenge and change your body - no dance experience or tutus required! Total Barre efficiently blends Pilates, dance, cardio and strength-training specifically challenging arms, legs and core to strengthen and lengthen the body.
Private session are for those who want or need a bit more focused instruction. Whether you working through rehabilitation from an injury or want a more personally tailored challenge then 1-to-1, couples or small group private sessions are a great option that is all about you. Classes and private sessions must be paid for on the day
Concessions are valid for one client only, must be paid prior to the first class and are non-refundable
Concessions are only valid for a set time period, usually a 10 week term specified at the time of booking
24 hour cancellation policy applies to all classes and private sessions. Any cancellations or changes less than 24 hours notice are payable in full.
Q. How do I get started?
We recommend all new clients book an introduction session to acquaint themselves with the studio and cover any questions they may have before joining group classes. Introductions sessions can be done either on a 1-to-1 basis or as part of a regularly scheduled group session. Please get in touch to find out more and arrange a time.
Q. Is Pilates suitable for me?
Pilates is low impact and focused on building mobility and strength to all levels. We always advise that you speak to your lead health care practitioner before starting Pilates and discuss any injuries or conditions that affect movement with us before joining classes.
Q. Are 1-to-1 sessions or classes better for me?
The choice of 1-to-1 session or classes really comes down to the individual and we are happy to discuss this with you. 1-to-1 sessions are best if you have specific needs around rehabilitation, training goals or are just after a bit more focused attention. Classes group sizes are kept smaller to help cater to different needs but are not always suitable for everyone.
Q. How often should I do Pilates?
Like anything the more time you put in the more results you will see but we recognize that everyone is different so we recommend attending at least once a week to start to notice the change.
In the famous words of Joseph Pilates “You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.”
Q. Can I book the same regular class or just when suits?
Our online booking systems offers you the flexibility to book classes to suit your timetable. If you are like a regular class time to locked and loaded we can help with that but equally if you need to mix it up you can book a class up to 2 hours prior to the start time. Please note we operate a strict 24 hour cancellation policy on all changes and bookings no exceptions.
Q. Concession or casual which is better?
Concessions offer better value for regular attendees but are only valid for a fixed time period so if you are heading away or unsure how often you can attend then casual might be a better option for you. Please note if you want to book a regular class spot for a fixed period we do require that you buy a concession.
Q. What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes that you can move and work out in. Socks are compulsory in our studio with grip socks preferred but not essential. We stock a range of Move Active grip socks for purchase at $19 a pair.
Q. How long are sessions?
Reformer and 1-to-1 sessions are 50 minutes and Barre classes 45 minutes. We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your session as we start promptly. Please ensure you have time to wash or sanitize your hands before and after each session.
Q. How do cancellations work?
You can cancel classes through an online link on your booking confirmation email or via email or text at no charge up to 24 hours prior to the session starting. Any cancellations or changes less than 24 hours prior will be charged at the session rate.
